Deck the Haunted Halls Day 6: Yule Horror

Day 6 of our Deck the Haunted Halls Virtual Event has arrived and we're thrilled to share Mosaic Players Founding Member Sara Shalom's rendition of H.P. Lovecraft's seasonal poem "Yule Horror."

Sara is passionate about the arts, especially as potential vehicles for inspiration, provocation, cultivation, and transformation. As a current student of druidry, she is fascinated by Lovecraft's Yuletide poem, as it illuminates, for her, the misplaced fear we humans often manifest when confronted with foreign ideas or cultures. She believes compassionate curiosity is a much better approach, when something seems strange or new.

Sara writes, "May this winter season bless each of us with restorative rest, gentle illumination in our shadowed spaces, and brightly lit, peaceful paths to guide us forward."

"A sad tale’s best for winter ... I have one. Of sprites and goblins.”

Mamillius, Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale

During the month of December, please join the Mosaic Players by the light of our shared virtual screens as we enjoy ghostly tales. Our members will be recording songs, stories, readings, and more. As videos become available, we'll post them here, there, and everywhere. If you have a ghostly tale that you'd like to share, please contact Artistic Director, Rebecca Zellar ( 'Tis the season!
