Deck the Haunted Halls Day 9: Ballade of Christmas Ghosts

Updated: Dec 10, 2021

Raise the ghosts and your toasts to Day 9 of Deck the Haunted Halls!

Mosaic Players member Jeanna Daebelliehn recites the poem "Ballade of Christmas Ghosts." This poem was written Andrew Lang, who was a 19th Century Scottish author known for his collections of folktales and faerie stories. It was originally published in Harper’s Magazine in December of 1884.

Currently, Jeanna is a STEM teacher for the Waukegan School District. She also teaches musical theatre classes and camps for the Lindenhurst Park District. The winter session will begin in February, and she is excited to share her love of the theatre with the young performers.

Jeanna wishes everyone the warmth and joy of the holiday season, whatever you may celebrate!!

"A sad tale’s best for winter ... I have one. Of sprites and goblins.”

Mamillius, Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale

During the month of December, please join the Mosaic Players by the light of our shared virtual screens as we enjoy ghostly tales. Our members will be recording songs, stories, readings, and more. As videos become available, we'll post them here, there, and everywhere. If you have a ghostly tale that you'd like to share, please contact Artistic Director, Rebecca Zellar (rebecca.zellar@mosaicplayers.org). 'Tis the season!
