Day 8 of Deck the Haunted Halls brings us a delightfully wicked original work by Mosaic Players Member Allison Fradkin and is performed by Caroline Heller.
Inspired by this article and mini documentary, "Don't Throw the Doll Baby Out with the Bloodbath Water" imagines a radical revenge scenario: Think you know who to credit and/or blame for the creation of the Cabbage Patch Kids, the must-have holiday toy of the 1980s? Well, you don't. Not only has she garbage paled into insignificance; she's also kicked the bucket. Which means she can now take possession of a CPK's soul…and potentially posthumously cancel the person who pilfered and profited from her creation.

When it comes to theatre, Allison Fradkin is like a woman possessed. As a playwright, she creates satirically scintillating stories that enlist their characters in a caricature of the idiocies and intricacies of insidious isms, and is currently working on a feminist musical tribute to The Golden Girls, which will premiere next year at Queer Theatre Kalamazoo. As an actress, she often inhabits considerably comedic roles, most recently Audrey in a number from Little Shop of Horrors in A Night of Music, presented by Schaumburg On Stage and point2productions; and an erstwhile sideshow performer in The Life and Times of Tulsa Lovechild, presented by Oakton College.
Caroline Heller is a multimedia artist who was inspired during the pandemic to pursue her interests in acting and writing. To further explore her abilities as an artist, she has been taking a series of classes through the Chicago Park District and performing in open mics and other platforms. Caroline graduated from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where she received her graduate degree in art therapy, and currently works at a community health center. When not working, Caroline is being a mom of one, creating visual art, and singing karaoke.
